Autovie Venete S.p.A. places great emphasis on providing its customers with a “safe” infrastructure. In particular:
- 60% of the whole motorway network uses water-draining concrete,
- at the end of 2004 315 rest and emergency areas will be available along the whole network,
- central and side guard rails with greater (triple-wave) containment performance will cover in 2004 111 km in all.
- noise mitigation barriers have been increased by 22,000 sq. meters,
- the number of Variable Message Panels (VMP) along the network is constantly on the rise, there are also warning panels at the main entry and exit points so as to inform motorists on traffic conditions before they enter the motorway.
In addition to constant upgrades to meet the most advanced safety standards, motorists can count on the Company’s staff for a number of services available 24/7:
- the Radio Centre: to handle emergencies in real time through the careful monitoring of the most congested sections thanks to a dozen cameras, constantly in touch with the Motorway Police,
- Assistance Units: to provide assistance 24/7 on the whole motorway network, now equipped with new vehicles
